Love this inspiring book!

Mike Foster is a new author for me.  I try to read a new author each month.  This book is part self-help, part a novel you will feel was written just for you.  All of us have had moments, situations, events which have hurt us, changed us (not for the better), scarred us.  Some are just part of life, while others are more than that.  This book speaks to the person who has been traumatized, hurt, been through losses unimaginable.
We all love an inspiring story written by someone who has “been there and done that”.  Mike will share with you his story and how he has processed it and grown from it.  It deals with coping, grief, letting go and rising above the ashes.  Forgiveness is not easy, but it is conquerable.  Mike makes you feel that he is right there with you during your personal journey.  Give this a read, you will be passing it on to others you know can have some more light and love in their life.
I will now read his next book.  Thanks Mike Foster for making a difference!

Take a Voyage through Coloring!

I am addicted to Coloring Books (as I was as a child) and just have to grab anything that Daria Song publishes.
Her stories and her illustrations are both dreamy and fun.  I actually can feel myself relaxing as I open her books and take pencil in hand.
The Night Voyage doesn’t disappoint!  The illustrations are intricate but not so teeny that it makes it difficult for coloring.  Her books are always printed on high quality and heavy paper so you could choose pencils or non-alcohol markers without fear.
Among the images, this book includes flowers, a little steam punk with gears and things as well as different types of birds and all sorts of flights of fancy!  The characters are charming as I am sure you will agree.
This would be a great book to gift to someone who is housebound, in the hospital or nursing home or just the average crafter who loves to color!

This third adult coloring book in Daria Song’s Time series follows the little girl on a new nighttime adventure when the conductor of her toy train comes to life and helps her distribute gifts across the world.

The Night Voyage is an evocatively illustrated story of a little girl who is swept away on the eve of her birthday by her toy train conductor on a magical journey to distribute gifts around the globe. Taking devotees ofThe Time Garden and The Time Chamber on an imaginative new adventure, The Night Voyage continues Daria Song’s wildly successful series with the beautifully intricate art that her fans have come to love, featuring a world of paper cranes, penny-farthing bicycles, trolleys, cityscapes, and hot air balloon-filled skies.

If you have yet to experience how much fun Adult Coloring can be, start off with one of Daria’s such as The Night Voyage.  You will not be disappointed!

A Magical Coloring Experience

I was able to add this magical book to my Adult Coloring Book collection last week.  Not being a person who is especially drawn to tattoos, I was a little nervous this one would be outside of my artistic realm, but no worries!   I was really wowed by the beautifully magical artwork. This book has pages which have a very Renaissance feel mixed with some Celtic and Animal influences. My favorites pages are Owls and Sugar Skulls which when colored will look like Mosaic and Stained Glass.
I can’t wait to get started the coloring process.  I have a product I used call Diamond Glaze which will enhance so many of the pages.  The book is approx 8 1/2 x 11 and made from heavy weight paper which will be perfect for crayons, pencils and some markers.  The drawings are also single pages with white backs, so you do not have to worry about “bleed through” affecting the next drawing. This is so important and appreciated.
If you ARE a tattoo lover, skull lover, animal, daggers and all things in between, go get this for your collection.  You will not regret it!

Megan Massacre, one of the most popular tattoo artists and reality TV stars with starring roles in TLC’s NY Ink and America’s Worst Tattoos, brings her wildly popular art style to a coloring book.

Tattoo artist Megan Massacre invites adult coloring book fans into her whimsical world of sugar skulls, sailing ships, mermaids, owls, and more. Now you can add your own bold, vibrant colors to her signature edgy and artistic tattoo designs–and tear each perforated page out for display!

Turn Your Doodles Into Drawings!

This is my first Christopher Hart book and I am thinking it will not be my last.  I am not a talented artist but I love to doodle and am always willing to try my hand at basic drawing fundamentals to improve my skills.  I find these characters very whimsical and a good place to start.  This book which is in workbook form is easily portable when paired with a sketch pad.
It simplifies the character drawing by dividing the face and body into quadrants which makes it much easier when drawing. Faces are always more difficult and this new technique really helps.
Included in the book are Children, Pandas, Ducks, Kittens and much more!  I recommend giving this one a try if you want to improve your skill in drawing these Manga cartoons.

A unique and creative book!

I was happy to add this Adult Coloring Book to my ever growing collection!  I was a avid “colorer” in my youth, and when the rebirth of this activity came to be for grownups, I applauded on the inside!  This book is not a typical choice for me to be honest, but that does not mean the skillful artwork is lost on me. Camilla is a very talented artist whose child like images seem to jump right off the page.  Her characters have huge “soulful” eyes which are reminiscent of Japanese comics.  The book is filled with fairies, some with unicorn horns, animals and many other accompaniments. Her drawings will be fun to color.

The quality of the book is wonderful.  Even the cover can be colored!  The pages are high quality and each come with a little note giving inspiration on how to just “let go” and color outside the lines. Crayons or colored pencils will work wonderfully for this book.  Give it a try if you want a unique book with “not the usual” images!

Are You a Pun Lover?

The Punderdome Card Game is an interesting addition to add your board game collection.
When I selected this game, I didn’t really quite “get it” to be honest and I was unsure if it would be something my children would even contemplate playing.  Nonetheless, we broke it out when the power went out.  I feel after working our way through it, it would be best left to the 14+ crowd.  It does take more thinking than you are probably used to when playing on game night, but you quickly get into the groove of thinking in Puns, something I don’t normally do.
The game has clear and brief instructions and you begin by selecting two theme ideas to work with.  The person whose turn it is needs to create a unique pun from those two cards. For example, you might receive the cards Primary and Location. I picked “First Place”. The player who creates the most creative and craziest pun, using the chosen words becomes the winner for the round!
What I really like about this game is its great portability!  Tuck it into a tote bag, and you have a game that is ready to Play wherever you are with no pieces to lose!  I also like the fact that you can interpret the rules as you want to, kind of how we play Monopoly in my house!
In a larger crowd, we tried it playing in teams vs. individual play.  Give it a try if you want to break out of the old board games rut.  You may never think of Puns the same way again!

God Bless America!

I am building up quite the collection of Adult Coloring Books and was happy to add this one. “God Bless America: A Patriotic Coloring Book” is a high quality book which is more important than one might think in a coloring book.
The pages are durable, high quality and perfect for use with colored pencils and markers.  The illustrations in the book are from several artists.  They are beautifully unique designs consisting of the Liberty Bell, Paul Revere, Iwo Jima, etc.
This book would be perfect for a coloring book collector or for a patriot who is just starting out in this hobby.
These books make ideal gifts for the hobbyist, someone recuperating or the crafter.
This arrived at the perfect time of the year and it will be put to good use!
