I am loving this new ART Book!

I have always aspired to be a great artistic painter.  Maybe it’s the colors or the ability to create something out of a glob of paint.  Who knows?  I set out to read this book and hopefully expand my painting knowledge and learn a few new techniques.
This book really “wowed” me!  First it is a great size and texture.  Easy to slide into an art case making it portable and easy to use wherever you set up to paint.  The illustrations are actual hand drawings of the techniques rather than photos.  This made the book extra special for me and shows the author is truly a watercolor specialist.
Topics contained within cover techniques such as contrasts, shadows, highlights, color harmony, painting to show air, fog, smoke, etc.  So many techniques I had not even thought about.  It also showcases specific mediums, pens, glazes and glosses.  For a relatively small book; pp154,
it packs a solid punch through Watercolor sketching.
I am off to the store today for a new Watercolor pad and a few canvases.  This book will inspire as well as educate.  Give it a try!

A guide that shows painters, drawers, doodlers, and urban sketchers how to bring their drawings to life with colorful, bold, yet accessible painting methods.

Bring new energy to your sketches of urban scenes with this fresh and simple approach to watercolor painting. Whether you’re an amateur artist, drawer, doodler, or sketcher, watercolor is a versatile sketching medium that’s perfect for people on the go—much like pen or pencil. Accomplished designer and illustrator Felix Scheinberger offers a solid foundation in color theory and countless lessons on all aspects of watercolor sketching.

Vibrant watercolor paintings grace each page, and light-hearted anecdotes (why do fish make great subjects to paint, you may be wondering…) make this a lively guide to the medium. With an open mind and sketchbook, you will be ready to capture the moments around you in luminous color with confidence, creativity, and ease—no matter what your skill level may be.
